Sweet Baking

The Finns & Sweet Baking

The swedes have their “fika” (coffee break with some pastry), for the Fins the equivalent is a coffee and some “pulla”.

Note that pulla in Swedish means something very different than pastry.  Pulla is typically a yeast dough flavoured with cardamon. Cardamon is not considered a “Christmas spice” in Finland, it is an everyday baking spice and one of the cornerstones of Finnish bakery.

There are in addition to pulla many pastries, often with berries. For people that are not that much into sweet stuff, Fins have also a wide range of "salty" pastries. You can find them in the category "Salty Baking".
